On-Campus Accommodation Fees

Residence Halls - Sydney

An Application Fee is payable as part of the application process together with lodgement of a completed Application Form. The Application Fee covers both a Room Bond and an advance payment toward accommodation. Full payment of this Fee is required before an Application will be processed. Details on Fees and Semester Rates are available on the Sydney Adventist Hospital website. Students are liable for the full Student Semester Rate regardless of the check-in or departure date. For details on Refund policies contact the SAH Residence Manager. Email: residence.manager@sah.org.au

Residents who fall behind in their accommodation payments will be subject to the consequences of Financial policies set out by both Avondale College of Higher Education and the SAH Residence.

The Student Semester Rate covers accommodation costs of a single bedroom together with full use of the shared and common facilities. Meals and other provisions are the personal responsibility of the resident.

During the first semester of occupancy payment of the Student Semester Rate is paid in three (3) instalments, where the full amount is not paid up-front. The table below shows the instalment scheduled dates and amounts:

If Check-in occurs in Semester 1 If Check-in occurs in Semester 2
When Due Amount When Due Amount
Before or as part of check-in $2,000.00 Before or as part of check-in $2,000.00
By 31 March $1,000.00 By 30 September $1,000.00
By 30 April Balance of the Semester Rate By 31 October Balance of the Semester Rate
By 1 July If remaining in-house for a second semester (or longer) then ongoing payments would be in accordance with the amount calculated through the table below, with your choice of a weekly or fortnightly payment schedule By 1 January If remaining in-house for a second semester (or longer) then ongoing payments would be in accordance with the amount calculated through the table below, with your choice of a weekly or fortnightly payment schedule

For all residential semesters following the semester in which check-in occurs, the Student Semester Rate can be paid off on a weekly or fortnightly schedule with the first payment due on 1 January for Semester 1 or 1 July for Semester 2. To calculate the weekly or fortnightly amount, refer to the calculation example below:

For Weekly Payments
Payments under this schedule are to commence the first day of the Residential Semester
(1 January or 1 July) then on a weekly basis thereafter
For Fortnightly payments
Payments under this schedule are to commence the first day of the Residential Semester
(1 January or 1 July) then on a fortnightly basis thereafter
Divide the Student Semester Rate by 26
Eg. If the Student Semester Rate was $4,500.00* and we divide it by 26 and rounded up, the weekly payment is = $173.08
Divide the Student Semester Rate by 13
Eg. If the Student Semester Rate was $4,500.00* and we divide it by 13 and rounded up, the fortnightly payment is = $346.16
* Example only – refer to the current Schedule of Fees for the actual Rate
