Bushwalking
overview
Avondale Outdoors can run bushwalking programs in the nearby Watagans Mountains, as a day or half-day actvity, or as part of a larger multiple activity program. We also run programs around the Hawkesbury River, in the Royal National Park in Sydney, or along the coast in Munmorah State Conservation area.

what to bring
Important note: this list is just a general overview - check the specific program information provided to you for any extra requirements for your program.
For a day hike (not overnight), you will need these items:
- 1L of water - more if the weather is hot
- Sturdy clothing - you are advised not to bring cotton clothing if possible, especially on longer trips, as it traps sweat and saps body heat when wet. Wool and synthetic fibres/cotton blends such as sports shirts are suitable
- A hat
- Close-toed shoes - not thongs or sandals. Boots are preferable
- Waterproof rainjacket
- Warm clothing if the weather is cold - fleece jackets, thermals, beanies, woolen socks
- Food
Depending on the program, you may also need a day-pack to carry food or other supplies.
For a longer multiple-day walk, you may also need to bring these items:
- Sleeping bag
- Sleeping mat
- Torch
- Backpack
- Eating utensils
