WHY IS AVONDALE COLLEGE MAKING CHANGES TO PARKING?
The changes have occurred to limit the flow of traffic around the Lake Macquarie campus to decrease the chance of a pedestrian being involved in a car accident.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PARK AT AVONDALE COLLEGE?
Parking costs $4 per visit or $100 per semester.
HOW DO I PAY IF I CHOOSE TO PAY PER VISIT?
When the boom gates are operational, there will be an intercom to the Avondale College receptionist. Give your details and the receptionist then charges the $4 to your account and lets you through the boom gates for that day.
WHERE CAN DAY STUDENTS PARK?
Day students can park only in the grassed car park opposite the nursing and science building. In the evening, you may be granted access to the boom gate near the business and information technology building to park closer to your class.
WHAT FINE WILL I INCUR FOR A PARKING OFFENCE?
A parking offence will incur a $50 fine. A warning will be issued for first-year students in their first semester for their first offence.
WHAT IF I HAVE A REASON FOR A PARKING OFFENCE?
You can make an appeal within 14 days. Contact Jenny Jones, personal assistant to the vice-president (finance). Phone 4980 2104. Email jenny.jones@avondale.edu.au.
WHAT IF I HAVE BORROWED A FRIEND'S CAR, BUT THE CAR IS NOT REGISTERED TO PARK AT AVONDALE COLLEGE?
Contact the Avondale College receptionist via the intercom at the boom gate on arrival. You will not incur a fine.
WHERE CAN I PARK IF I'M PLAYING BASKETBALL?
The boom gate near the tennis courts may be opened for special events such as Avondale Basketball Association games.
HOW DO I GET THROUGH THE BOOM GATES WHEN THEY ARE OPERATIONAL?
Swipe your ID card to open the boom gates. The gates open automatically on exit.
