The countdown until Project CONNECT goes live has begun.
In just six weeks, Avondale College will-after 20 months of planning, designing, building and testing-implement a new student management system powered by a software program called Callista. This is also the name of the company providing the ongoing services and enhancements.
This system will not only facilitate the management of all aspects of a student's academic progress, from application to graduation, but will also replace the long-lived legacy of an Avondale-built program known as SRS (Student Record System).
As these last six weeks draw closer, the Project CONNECT team is finalising training materials, the migration of data from the old system to the new and the look for student reports such as transcripts, while ensuring other college systems can receive appropriate data from the new system. It is also checking with course coordinators that course and curriculum data is correct.
Training for users of the new system begins on September 8. Watch for the schedule and sign-up opportunities--you will want to make allowance for a few hours of your time.
