Connections Online sidled up to Festival of Faith speaker Pastor David Solomon Hall, Sr, and asked . . .
YOU SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME PREACHING IN CHURCHES AND SCHOOLS ACROSS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN YOUR ROLE AS ENROLMENT COORDINATOR AT ANDREWS UNIVERSITY. WHAT'S "MOST OF YOUR TIME" MEAN?
Between February and Festival of Faith, I spoke at a youth rally, a student ministries retreat, a seminar, two worship services and a week of prayer.
FAVOURITE BIBLE TEXT?
3 John 1:4: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth" (NIV).
PERSONAL QUESTION. MARRIED WITH CHILDREN?
I've been married to the former Connie Smith for the past 13-and-a-half years. She's a third grade teacher at Ruth Murdoch Elementary School on the campus of Andrews University. We have one son, David Solomon Hall, Jr, a 10-and-a-half-year-old young man in the fifth grade at Ruth Murdoch.
MOST MINISTERS SEEM TO HAVE A PET TOPIC OR THEME THAT DRIVES THEIR PREACHING. WHAT'S YOURS?
My message is simple. It's Jesus. If there's one thing I want to leave Avondale with, it's to live your life with the intention of making God smile. That should be our number-one objective.
WHAT DO WE, AS THE CHURCH, NEED TO BE DOING TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL?
We need to become more aware that the Second Coming of Jesus is indeed going to happen, and we should live our lives like He is coming soon.
HOW DO YOU RATE AVONDALE?
Avondale is full of vibrancy and sincerity in its worship. [The students here] will finish the work if guided in the right direction.
