Caption: They came, they studied, they went and now they are back. Twenty-three ministers enrolled in Avondale College's Associate Degree in Theological Studies visited the Lake Macquarie campus in early March to study the first of two units offered this year. "The 10-day intensive proved to be a busy but exciting time, both for the students and the presenters," says Pastor John Skrzypaszek, director of the Ellen G White/SDA Research Centre and lecturer for the Seventh-day Adventist history and heritage unit. During the intensive, the students explored the passion of early Adventist pioneers who shared the conviction of God's leading in the formation of the church. The students' challenge: to recapture the same passion and apply it to life and ministry in the 21st century. Among the lecturers who shared their expertise were Drs Allan Lindsay, Arthur Patrick and Paul Petersen. The students will study the theory and practice of evangelism with Pastor Gary Webster, the secretary of the church in the South Pacific's Ministerial Association, during Winter School.
