Panel gives community feel to faith festival

18 August 2009

A recurring panel discussion added variety and emphasised community during Festival of Faith on Avondale College's Sydney campus, August 3-6.

Up to four student-selected panellists addressed the theme of hope from differing perspectives during each meeting. The panellists included staff members from the Faculty of Nursing and Health and Sydney Adventist Hospital-chief executive officer Dr Leon Clark and nursing executive officer Annette Baldwin-students and the chair of the Adventist Accrediting Association, Dr Lisa Beardsley.

Students also raised money for a World Vision immunisation project giving children hope for a healthy future. The total exceeded the $785 donated this past year.

Building a sense of community through Festival of Faith is important because it is one of the few faculty-wide events where every student is on campus at the same time.
