My mother used to tell me, "Everything changes; nothing stays the same." I don't think my four-year-old self believed her, but as time passed, I began to see the truth in her words.
If this is your first year at Avondale College, you may not notice the changes second-, third- and fourth-years see. They remember the former locations of the bookstore and the Information Technology Services Department. They remember the parked cars in Palm Court. They even remember when they could afford to eat in the cafeteria! (Nick, the food tastes great.)
If this is your first year, you'll soon be telling new students about the blackout, about boom gates and, perhaps, about Connections. You'll say, "I remember I could only get Connections at assembly or forum. Now I read it online whenever I want."
Connections Online gives additional information to what appears in print. For example, the Connections calendar lists The Promise as performing at forum next week.
Click here to visit the vocal ensemble's website. The Promise sang with a cappella quartet The Idea of North during a workshop before The Idea of North's Homecoming concert this past Saturday.
Click here to read Connections arts writer Braden Blyde's review of the concert.
Connections Online: check your Avondale email address for updates each week.
