CH262 :: ORGANIC CHEMISTRY IIA
Description
This subject gives a more advanced treatment of spectroscopic methods of structure determination than encountered in Chemistry IB and includes 13C NMR. Some mechanisms associated with aliphatic compounds (nucleophilic substitution elimination electrophilic and free radical addition to C=C and nucleophilic reactions of C=O and acid derivatives) are analysed more deeply than in Chemistry IB. Carbohydrate chemistry is further developed and nucleic acid chemistry is introduced.
