ED300 :: INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES & THE ATYPICAL CHILD



Description


This subject examines approaches which can be used by teachers to assist with the inclusion of children with special needs in the regular classroom setting. Emphasis is placed on the development of positive attitudes towards the mainstreaming of students with special needs as well as on the planning and implementation of appropriate educational programs for these students. In particular the subject aims to provide preservice teachers with a range of strategies which can be used to optimise the educational experiences and the social inclusion of the mainstreamed child.
