PH361 :: QUANTUM PHYSICS

Description

This subject covers standard topics in undergraduate quantum physics including the Schrödinger equation and some of its simple solutions such as finite well harmonic oscillator and hydrogen atom. Dirac notation Hilbert space operators angular momentum and spin perturbation methods variational methods and many electron systems are also discussed. This is the final subject in the area of quantum mechanics. It assumes a much greater facility in mathematics particularly calculus and perturbation theory and demands much greater ability with abstract concepts than 200-level subjects.
