PS365 :: MARRIAGE AND FAMILY PSYCHOLOGY
Description
This subject examines marriage and family psychology giving particular attention to family systems theory and Christian perspectives. Current research relating to the family life cycle family influences on adolescent development attitudes toward religion and family relationships are considered. Health and dysfunction provide the context for an investigation of systemic approaches to facilitating individual couple and family change. Cultural sensitivity is seen as essential to the study of this subject. Students are trained in basic interview skills pre-marital counselling and appropriate referral.
