HECS-HELP
If you are a domestic student, you may be eligible for a Commonwealth supported place (HECS-HELP). There are two forms of HECS-HELP assistance:
HECS-HELP Loan:
This is a loan from the Australian Government for all or part of your student contribution amount. No repayment is required until your income exceeds the threshold ($41,594 2008-2009) (CPI Indexed).
HECS-HELP Discount:
If you pay up-front all, or at least $500, of your student contribution amount for units by the census date, you will receive a 20% discount on the amount you pay. Some students are required to pay their student contribution upfront and are ineligible for the upfront discount.
If you are a domestic full fee-paying student, you may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance. FEE-HELP is available for most Avondale higher education courses. FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth loan scheme that assists eligible students to defer payment of their tuition fees. FEE-HELP can cover all or part of a student’s tuition fees, up to a lifetime limit of $83,313 (2009). The $83,313 (2009) FEE-HELP limit is indexed each year. A loan fee of 20% applies to FEE-HELP loans for undergraduate courses of study. The FEE-HELP limit does not include the loan fee. No repayment is required until your income exceeds $41,595 (2008-2009 (CPI indexed).
