The Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Teaching combines professional studies in education with studies in appropriate Bachelor of Science disciplines that will equip graduates for secondary teaching. Secondary education degrees are designed to prepare graduates for careers in secondary teaching. Graduates are qualified to teach in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Christian school system both in Australia and overseas, as well as in the wider educational sector of government and non-government schools.

HECS-HELP
If you are a Commonwealth Supported Student, you may be eligible for HECS-HELP. There are two forms of HECS-HELP assistance:
HECS-HELP Loan:
This is a loan from the Australian Government for all or part of your student contribution amount. No repayment until income exceeds the threshold ($41,594 2008-2009) (CPI Indexed).
HECS-HELP Discount:
If you pay up-front all, or at least $500, of your student contribution amount for units with the same census date, you will receive a 20% discount on the amount you pay.

FEE-HELP
If you are a domestic full fee-paying student, you may be eligible for FEE-HELP assistance. FEE-HELP is available for all Avondale higher education courses. FEE-HELP is a Commonwealth loan scheme that assists eligible students to defer payment of their tuition fees. FEE-HELP can cover all or part of a student’s tuition fees, up to a lifetime limit of $83,313 (2009). The $83,313 (2009) FEE-HELP limit is indexed each year. A loan fee of 20% applies to FEE-HELP loans for undergraduate courses of study. The $80,000 FEE-HELP limit does not include the loan fee. No repayment until income exceeds $41,595 (2008-2009 (CPI indexed).
