The college is committed to providing a study program set within the unique Christian world view of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This faculty builds on this foundation to furnish our students with the professional and personal skills to contribute a Christian influence in the community where they are employed.
The Bachelor of Business (BBus) is a professional degree designed for those who plan to take up entry-level appointments on completion. We offer majors in Accounting, Information Technology, Management and Marketing. When taken in a double degree framework, employment opportunities are further enhanced.
The Postgraduate courses in Leadership and Management (Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Master of Arts) have been designed around the needs of people who are currently employed in leadership positions, or those who aspire to leadership. Graduates hold positions of responsibility in various kinds of organisations but particularly within church, non-governmental or not-for-profit organisations. This post-graduate degree is delivered mainly via mixed-mode, distance and Winter Schools, and this flexibility allows students to develop their skills, taking into account the demands of their own work schedule.
The quality of the Avondale program has attracted a range of international students. When combined with a cross section of national students and teaching staff, we have a vibrant learning environment of different cultures and backgrounds. Our Staff/Student ratio is 1:12. All staff operate with an open door policy which means that they are always approachable and appointments are easily made without excessive lead time.
