Sydney Campus Accomodation
Sydney Campus accommodation is provided by the Sydney Adventist Hospital on behalf of Avondale College
Sydney Adventist Hospital Residence
The SAH Residence offers both male and female accommodation for the short term guest and long term resident. Guest rooms, available during clinical placements etc, are from one night up to six weeks. Residential rooms, which include student accommodation, are for periods greater than seven weeks. Students are not required to move out of residential rooms at the end of each semester, they are continuously entitlted to the room until they choose to 'check-out', which may be at graduation, after completing a new graduate placement or longer.
The SAH Residence consists of gender specific, single rooms with shared facilities for kitchen, laundry, bathroom and lounge rooms. Students must provide their own cooking equipment (eg pots and pans) eating utensils, bed linen and study chair. For their convenience students may wish to furnish their room with a small fridge. Rooms are furnished with a bed base, mattress, desk, wardrobe, carpet flooring and venetian blind. Additional storage outside of residential rooms is limited and subject to availability.
Internet access within the SAH Residence is limited to the two computer rooms provided by Avondale College and the Residence 'Hot Spot' which is accessible on private laptops, fitted with a wireless modem. The Residence 'hot spot' is only accessible in the Residence common lounge room and 'time' is purchased at Residence Reception. Internet access is not provided in private rooms, however personal purchase through an internet provider for satellite broadband is a popular alternative outside of these provisions. Public telephones are available by way of cash or phone card within the Residence.
Recreational facilities on or near the hospital estate avilable to residents, include a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court, gymnasium and a recreational room.
Residential accommodation is subject to an application process. A Room Bond, which is incorporated in the Application Fee, is payable at the time of residential application.
