The Academic Year

The academic year at Avondale begins in March and ends in early December. The year is divided into two semesters and students are able to commence in March or August.

Most students from Australia and New Zealand commence in March. Only some courses can be completed in the minimum time if enrolling in August. The Academic Office will advise on which enrolment date will best suit you.

There is a ten-day break in the middle of each semester. We have a mid-year vacation for six-weeks from late June until mid-August. Summer vacation is for twelve weeks from early December until early March. Semester dates for the current year are available on the academic calendar.

We recommend that you arrive on campus on the Sunday prior to registration, unless other arrangements are necessary to accommodate flight schedules and travel plans.

Graduation at Avondale is the first or second weekend of December each year.
