International Student Fees 2012
An International student is from any country other than Australia or New Zealand.
All courses other than nursing, are located on the Lake Macquarie Campus.
Nursing students have the choice of studying their first year on the Lake Macquarie Campus or the Sydney Campus. All nursing students will study on the Sydney Campus from the first semester of their second year.
Please note all pricing is quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD) and is inclusive of GST.

Tuition Fees
Total tuition amounts are only indicative and refer to a standard full study load or 4 units (24 credit points). Pricing for individual units (subjects) will vary.
Students from the South Pacific Region
These fees are subsidised by the South Pacific Division of the SDA Church. South Pacific Region students pay the same fees as Domestic Students but are still required to pay each semester's fees upfront.

Students from Other Countries
Students from countries other than those in the South Pacific Region are required to pay their fees upfront each semester.

Tuition fees may vary depending on the units in which you are enrolled. Non-Standard units that include travel costs such as study tours, professional development placements, practicum teaching components and music performances are charged at a higher cost.

Service and Facility Fees
Service and Facility fees are an optional fees for any services and facilities provided to the student at either campus. These could include parking, printing credits, network access for a personal computer, use of tennis or squash courts, etc.

On Campus Accommodation Fees
Residence Halls - Lake Macquarie
Avondale College provides an all-inclusive package that covers all accommodation, meals and internet access.

*Pricing is for the semester period only. Students wishing to stay over mid-semester or year-end breaks will be charged an additional rate per night which does not include meals.
At the beginning of each semester, students in the residence halls pay a room bond of $500. It is credited in full when you leave at the end of each year unless there are charges for cleaning, damage or you don't return the key.
The above pricing includes a single room in the residence halls, 3 meals per day Monday to Friday and 2 Meals on Saturday and Sunday.
Rooms are only allocated upon receipt of a signed application and payment of the room bond.

Residence Halls - Sydney
On Campus accommodation is available in the nurses residences adjacent to the Faculty of Nursing and Health. The Nurses Residence is separate to Avondale College have their own
Schedule of Fees for 2012 and

Off-Campus accommodation may be available through real estate agents.
Meal costs on the Sydney Campus are approximately $1,500. All meals are available on a pay as you eat basis from the Sydney Adventist Hospital Cafeteria.
Fee Payment Options
Tuition Invoices will be available through Student Connect once enrolment is complete.
Residence Hall invoices will be mailed out once the application and room bond has been received and the student has been accepted into the Residence Halls.
International student's are required to pay all Fees upfront at the start of each semester.
Consequences of non-payment of fees may include:

An ATM is available on campus for students' personal use.
Other Fees
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC):
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) is compulsory for all international students. OSHC with Medibank Private will cost a minimum of $480 for a single person for 2012. Cover is required for the full length of your course and must be paid upfront. Your OSHC will be arranged through the Admission Enquiry Centre.
Nurses Uniforms:
Students are required to purchase nurses uniforms in the first year of the course. The cost is approximately $200.
Bridging Courses:
Avondale generally offers a Chemistry Bridging Course at the beginning of each year. See
chemistry bridging for more information including costs.
Text Books:
Textbooks are available from the Avondale Book Shop. The average cost for textbooks may vary from $400 AUD to $600 AUD per semester.
Course Specific Costs:
Students in some courses may incur additional costs for course materials (e.g. teaching aid materials for BEd students, lab fees as well as art and photography supplies for Visual Arts students, coaching charges for PE students) etc. Course Coordinators are able to advise on these details for specific courses.
