He graduated as a biochemist, owns an engineering firm and preaches as an agent of God.
Herb Larsen is from British Columbia, Canada, but he visited Avondale College's Lake Macquarie campus this past week (August 27-September 1) to speak at Festival of Faith.
He encouraged staff members and students attending the morning and evening meetings to make God their first choice. "There is only one thing that will give you a sense of relevance in this world, and that is God, and in my presentations I have tried to encourage each one to be an agent of God," said Herb.
Herb may be a successful businessperson--he is president and owner of TASH Industrial Design Engineering--but he says his God-given talents are his ability to meet and influence people in high places for the gift and good news of Jesus Christ.
"It's hard talking about your faith, but with personal testimonies and scripture, Herb did well," says first-year education student Neil Bustos. Isabelle Millien, a fourth-year primary education student, found Herb inspiring because he "talked about bringing people to Jesus and not a church."
Students responded to Herb's call on Friday evening, with 20 requesting Bible studies with chaplain Dr Wayne French and 60 committing to spend at least one hour with Jesus.
