An Avondale College staff member, an alumnus and students appear on three new shows produced by the Seventh-day Adventist Church for broadcast on pay and satellite television.
Dr Daniel Reynaud, a senior lecturer in history, recorded two opinion segments on Monday for the news and current affairs show, InFocus. The segments, called "My word," reflect on the significance of Anzac Day and warn against the dangers of alcohol.
Dr Allan Lindsay (pictured), a former director of the Ellen G White/SDA Research Centre, which is based on Avondale's Lake Macquarie campus, hosts South Pacific Classics. The show features mission films produced by the church and church members in the 1960s and 1970s.
And a One Mission team of 32 Adventist young adults led by Bachelor of Education (primary) student Chantal Tompson features on the reality show, Mission Brother. The young adults, many of who are or were Avondale students, travelled to Thailand in December this past year to serve at a school in the northern part of the country.
The shows, all produced by Adventist Media Network, air on the church's Hope Channel on Fridays (from 6.30 pm), Saturdays (from 4.30 pm) and Sundays (from 8.30 pm). They also air on the Australian Christian Channel and Shine TV in New Zealand.
Daniel's "My word" segments air on Hope from next Friday, April 25, and from Friday, May 2.
