Avondale provides second chance to school leavers

29 January 2009

Avondale College is offering a Diploma of General Studies to help  fast-track students  into their nominated field. This FEE HELP  accredited course can allow students with lower UAI marks to enter tertiary education.

Coordinator of the Diploma of General Studies course, David Potter, said, "80 per cent of students who enter the course apply to move into their nominated degree after passing four subjects, equivalent to 1 semester in the Diploma of General Studies. Most of them will be eligible to do just that. The graduating class of 2008 had former General Studies students graduating from almost every degree."

Avondale College register, Gwen Wilkinson said, "We want students to achieve their career goals. This is another way of allowing students a second chance at making those dreams come true."
