The restructure see 19 meals per week for 16 weeks provided. Each meal will cost $4.11, a price that is competitive with Newcastle University and University of New England. The new improvements will also mean that more services are provided, resulting in shorter queues and better service for students and staff. The best news for the Cafeteria, is that the new restructure will stop the financial losses from continuing in the future
Vice President of Finance, Francois Keet, says, "The new restructure would result in the improvement of service levels in the caf. There should be smaller ques. Less queuing and faster service. I think it will first of all improve service and efficiencies in the cafeteria. It will secondly, create a sustainable financial future for the cafeteria.
Avondale College continues to be committed to providing tasty and nutritional meals using quality fresh seasonal products as well as classic favourites for students. While the variety of choices in the cafeteria will be reduced, weekly selection will be greatly varied. Breakfast will be provided in a continental style from Monday to Friday with student favourite, Sunday Brunch, remaining unchanged. Many bottled drinks will now be found in the Cafe.
Avondale College's Director of Advancement, Lorin Bradford, says, "Students shouldn't have to worry about where the next meal comes from. The new restructure will help students remain focused on their class work at the most crucial times of the year."
