Avondale College has offered scholarships to 65 new students this year but some are still available for students who will begin studying in semester two.
Scholarships still available include those for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and for international students and the following:
. Academic Excellence Scholarships--$2000 for the first year of study and $1500 in each successive year in an undergraduate or VTE course (maximum $6500), available to students ranked in the top 10 per cent of their state, territory or country.
. Community Service Scholarships--$3000 for one year of study in any undergraduate or VTE course, available to new students demonstrating active involvement in service and contribution to their community.
. Leadership Scholarships--$3000 for one year of study in any undergraduate or VTE course, available to new students demonstrating active involvement in leadership at their school or church or in their community.
. Pathology Scholarships--up to $8000, available to Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Medical Science (pathology) students entering any year of the course.
. Science Sizzler Scholarships--$2300 in meal credit for one year, available to first-year residential students with a Commonwealth Supported Place in a science and teaching course.
