Avondale College School of Aviation

07 January 2009

Avondale College has re-opened enrolments for the School of Aviation. Last year, enrolments for the Aviation course closed due to financial difficulties. During that time, Avondale College administration sought options to keep the school open.  Avondale College has entered the final stages of negations to sell the school to another tertiary institution, allowing the School of Aviation to remain open and operational.

It is anticipated that during 2009 the change of ownership will take affect. This will not impact students' courses. Under the new ownership, students will have the same teachers, the same courses and the same venue.

"The change in ownership will give us the opportunity to continue to meet the needs for pilots both domestically and internationally," says Chief Pilot and Chief Flying Instructor, Garry Fraser. "We have a strong reputation for flying and training and we will be able continue that. In some indirect way, the mission's aviation programs of the Seventh-day Adventist church will be served as well. Pilots will be able to train here and former graduands will be able to further their training," says Garry.

Avondale College is encouraging new students to join the School of Aviation for the 2009 school year. Contact the Enquiry and Enrolment Centre, Avondale College. Tel. 1800 991 392 or 4980 2377 Email: enquiries@avondale.edu.au
