Gift saves teaching students hundreds of dollars

13 May 2009

They are lucky! First-year teaching students at Avondale College have received a gift from the Seventh-day Adventist Church: the curriculum for the church's primary and secondary schools in Australia. The Primary Syllabuses and Secondary Frameworks come as a double CD set, saving each student more than $200. "The set is great," says Dr Marion Shields, a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education. "Not only does it promote Adventist education to our students, but it also gives the students access to a useful resource at no cost." Dr Daryl Murdoch, the associate director for Adventist Schools Australia, visited the Lake Macquarie campus this past week to present copies of the set to each student.
