About: I have been a church pastor for 10 years, a mission president (Western Solomon Islands) for 5 years, 2 years in the Western Pacific Union directing Community Services, Family Life and Ministerial, teaching at Pacific Adventist University in PNG for 10 years, and at The Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies in the Philippines for 3 years (2 years as dean of the seminary), and spent 4 years at the South Pacific Division as Field Secretary. This is my fourth year teaching at Avondale.

I completed my BA in Theology at Avondale (but granted by Pacific Union College) in 1976, an Ma in Family Life Education in 1992, also at Avondale, but granted by Loma Linda University; an MA in Old Testament studies from Andrews (1997), and a PhD in OT exegesis and theology from Andrews in 2001. My dissertation was on the fatherhood of God as seen in the Old Testament, and it was published by Peter Lang Press.

Making God real and approachable is my main focus, and in so doing, I enjoy tinkering in my workshop and getting my hands dirty in garden/landscaping projects. For, it is while our feet are firmly on the ground that we can truly appreciate what is beyond us.
