Child Sponsorship: exploring pathways to a brighter future was published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2014. Brad has investigated the the socio-economic impact of hysterectomy on Nepali women, barriers to surgical treatment for Nepali women with hysterectomy, the environmental attitudes of SDA church leaders and the impact of short-term mission on participants. He has an ongoing interest in child sponsorship.

Brad is also the author of the Finding David Series of books for Teenagers and three illustrated childrens stories.
About: Brad is married to Fiona and has three children. He has a strong interest in global poverty and has worked for ADRA and Asian Aid Organisation. His interest in international poverty extends back to 1992 when he spent a year as a student volunteer working with Liberian refugees on the border of Liberia and Cote d Ivoire.

Brad has also worked as an educator in Papua New Guinea (1995-1997), was a director of Asian Aid Organisation for four years, acts as staff adviser to the COSMOS club and is a member of the ADRA Australia project appraisal committee.

One of Brad's more enjoyable responsibilities is leading student trips to countries including Nepal, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.

Brad reminds students that Jesus Christ walked with the poor and met the needs of marginalised people in ancient Israel. He was born in a stable, became a refugee soon after, grew up in what we would call a poor family and was harrassed and persecuted. The Bible provides a moral code which urges all 'believers' to care for others who are less fortunate.
