Step 3 - Check for special requirements related to some courses
Unique Student Identifier
The Australian Government requires all students in Australia who are enrolled in a nationally recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) course to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
The USI is a number which allows you online access to your training records and results (transcript) through your own USI account. This USI stays with you for life and is recorded by any provider with which you enrol to study a nationally recognised VET course.
How to get your USI if you do not have one
If you do not already have a USI it is free and easy for you to obtain one online at www.usi.gov.au
Please ensure that you have the required documentation to obtain a USI prior to preceeding: see http://www.usi.gov.au/create-your-USI/Pages/default.aspx
Please obtain you USI now and keep it in a safe and secure place where you can access it when needed.
Providing your USI to Avondale
You are required to provide your USI to Avondale as your VET provider. To do this, Log into Student Connect where you will enter your USI. If you need assistance with Student Connect please email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Phone: 02 4980 2246.
Once you are in Student Connect go to the Menu item ‘VET USI ‘ in the ‘Personal Details’ section and follow the directions for uploading your USI.
