Student Services

Student Services at Avondale College of Higher Education provides non-academic services such as chaplaincy, counselling, on-campus accommodation and transport and coordinates and sponsors student associations and clubs.

Student Services office is located in College Hall on the Lake Macquarie campus. College Hall has a canteen, mailboxes for off-campus students, a pool and a table tennis table and a television lounge.

Associations

Avondale Students’ Association (ASA) is the representative body for students on Avondale’s Lake Macquarie campus.

Avondale Nursing Students’ Association (ANSA) is the representative body for students on Avondale’s Sydney campus.

Counselling

Student Services offers a free and confidential counselling service on the Lake Macquarie and Sydney campuses.

Lake Macquarie campus

Schedule appointments by contacting counsellor Kim Pow. Her office is at the rear of Avondale College Seventh-day Adventist Church near Cafe Rejuve.

Sydney campus

Schedule appointments with a counsellor by contacting chaplain Dr Drene Somasundram.

Train concession

A train concession is available for most students from Student Services. International students can apply for an International Student Identity Card, which they can use to receive a train concession.
