Sport And Recreation
The Student Activities Committee, Sport and Recreation Coordinator, and Student Services, along with various recreational clubs, are all involved in providing a wide variety of sporting and recreational activites both on and off campus.
Dora Creek and Sandy Creek provide good venues for canoeing with access to Lake Macquarie. Numerous tracks through the local bush can be used for jogging or mountain biking.
The auditorium features a full-size
basketball court plus three smaller courts, four squash courts, a gymnastics room, and a table tennis area. This venue is in heavy demand and regular competitions are scheduled during the academic year in basketball and squash.
The outdoor oval is used for selected athletics events and for touch football, soccer, and cricket. The tennis courts are available for students and staff for social and competition games.
Special annual sporting events include a golf tournament, an aquathon and triathlon. The 25 metre swimming pool is heated during the cooler months and is open at selected hours throughout the year for all students and staff.
A purpose built Health Club 'Fit Life' is available for students to use. Facility paid students ($300 per semester) pay an additional cost of $50 to access exercise and fitness equipment.
Scheduled aerobic workouts are also available.
