Avondale University requires all applicants for the Bachelor of Ministry and Theology and the Associate Degree in Theological Studies to provide a reference from their Pastor. Applicants for ministry degrees are expected to be:

1. Growing Christians with a commitment to God and His church
2. At least two years post baptism
3. Active church members, evidenced by involvement in its various ministries and/or mission activities.
