Exciting changes have come to the Pastoral Team & Chaplaincy at Avondale University in 2025!

We are now an integrated team under the banner of Campus Ministries, bringing together the Pastoral Team, the Chaplaincy Team, and the University Student Ministries Team into one unified ministry.

This intentional shift is designed to create a seamless and cohesive experience for all students, staff, and community members engaging with Avondale’s spiritual life. By aligning these key areas of ministry, we can better support our university community through pastoral care, chaplaincy services, student leadership development, and spiritual formation, ensuring that every person who connects with Avondale has a clear and supportive spiritual journey.

We call this journey our WAY; which is to Know, Serve, Connect and Go. A pathway that was modelled by Jesus with his disciples (Luke 5) and a pathway that is reflected in the stained glass murals of the Avondale University Church to empower the University’s slogan: A Greater Vision of World Needs!

This new structure fosters synergy between ministries, allowing for greater collaboration, shared vision, and more effective service. Whether students are engaging in worship services, Bible studies, mentorship programs, or personal pastoral care, they will now experience a streamlined and integrated support system designed to meet their spiritual and emotional needs holistically.

Our Campus Ministries Team collective purpose is to Inspire, Equip and Empower people to respond to God’s Love and Calling in their lives.

Already as we have been journeying together through O-Week, SALT programs, Connect Groups , Bible Studies, Church services and Festival of Faith we have felt a palpable sense of unity and connection on Campus.

The Job Ready Network (JRN) is a new initiative designed to help your students prepare for their future today. Developed by the Sanitarium Talent Acquisition (Recruitment) Team, JRN provides tailored career coursework, hands-on support for career educators, and a dedicated platform to promote the Sanitarium Scholarship Program to middle-years high school students.

JRN offers three key opportunities for your school:

1. Online Professional Network (Launching Term 1, 2025)

Exclusively for Adventist High Schools, this virtual network, facilitated by the Sanitarium Talent Acquisition Team, fosters collaboration among career educators. By committing just one hour online every six months, you will:

✔ Connect deeper with career peers and stay informed on employment trends
✔ Gain early insights into the Sanitarium Scholarship Program
✔ Build relationships with Sanitarium TA professionals, positioning them as a key resource for your school

2. Career Resource Provision (Mid-2025 Onward)

JRN will supply ready-to-use careers  and teacher resources, covering:

✅ How-to Guides & Infographics on resumes, cover letters, job applications, interviews, and professional appearance
✅ Teacher Resource Pack, including classroom activities, mock interview tips, and curated web resources

3. In-School & Virtual Support (Starting 2025-2026)

A Berkley Vale based trial (with WAS, CCAS, and AS) will introduce termly in-person visits from Sanitarium TA/HR professionals to support:

📌 Year 10 Careers Classes
📌 Staff presentations
📌 Parent nights & Career Expos

If successful, this program will expand in 2026 to Perth, Brisbane, and Auckland Schools: for schools outside these areas, they will have access to live and pre-recorded virtual sessions for staff, students, and parents to access. Don’t miss this opportunity to equip your students for a faith-driven career, one  with real impact. Stay tuned for more details!

If you would like your school to be a part of the Job Ready Network, all that is required at this stage is for you to email [email protected] requesting involvement, and noting your name and email address as Principal, along with nominating the staff member (or it may be yourself) that will be allocated as the JRN contact person; along with their email address.
