Avondale wants to ensure that you succeed in this qualification. Applicants must meet the following entry requirements:
• Be 16 + years
• Complete a language, literacy, and numeracy skills assessment*
These entry requirements will be confirmed through information collected on the enrolment form.
*Avondale will assess competence in literacy, language, and numeracy using the Basic Key Skill Builder (BKSB) test. An exit level of 2 or 3 will be needed for entry into a Certificate III qualification.Physical Requirements
Individual support workers often perform physical tasks as part of their job role. Learners will need a reasonable level of fitness to assist clients with mobility issues, to stand and walk for long periods, frequent bending over, and use PPE as required.
All students are required to
Provide a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Provide a copy of a valid ID with a picture and signature
Able to meet any work placement requirements
All students must also be able to meet the following requirements to enable successful participation in this course and work placement:
• Access and able to use a computer and internet
• Able to commit to work placement requirements
• Able to obtain a Working With Children Check / National Police Clearance check /
NDIS check• Able to meet the physical requirements
