Avondale Research Bachelors, Masters & PhD theses are available as follows:


Electronic theses - are available online in the Avondale Research repository as PDF files unless the thesis is under embargo.


Print theses held by the Library can found using the Advanced Search option in Primo:


  1. Select Advanced Search
  2. Select Search Profile = Books, journals, DVDs & more
  3. Select Any field and as a phrase enter avondale college
  4. Select Material Type = Theses
  5. Click Search.

You can search for Avondale theses about a specific topic by including additional keywords, e.g. marketing


Please note:


  • Print theses can NOT be borrowed and are to be used in the library only
  • If a thesis is held at another Avondale Campus Library, you can ask for it to be sent to you at your local Avondale Campus Library.

General Theses

Avondale ResearchAustralian_content Is an institutional repository of the research and scholarly output produced by Avondale staff and post-graduate students. It contributes to the growing international trend for open access to scholarly outputs and makes research literature freely available online.


Seventh-day Adventist Dissertations and Theses in Religion A bibliography of theses and dissertations completed by students at Seventh-day Adventist institutions of Higher Education through 2012. The bibliography is a work in progress, and is not complete. Challenges continue with the representation of non-Roman fonts and diacritics, so authors and titles with these issues may not be listed at this time. It is the goal to include all works in the bibliography.


Center for Research Libraries Foreign dissertations.
To meet scholars’ individual research needs, CRL purchases materials in the following areas for CRL libraries on request: • Foreign Doctoral Dissertations from institutions in countries outside the U.S. and Canada • Newspapers for which CRL owns at least one day of a newspaper title • Archival material from national governments, NGOs, and other organizations and institutions.


Cybertesis University of Chile, provides access to 50,000 theses from 32 world universities.


DART-Europe E-theses Portal (DEEP) European working group of the networked digital library of theses and dissertations (NDLTD) Provides access to 106,000 doctoral theses. DART-Europe is a partnership of research libraries and library consortia who are working together to improve global access to European research theses.


Digital Library and Archives Their mission is to preserve and provide access to the research and scholarship of Virginia Tech's graduate students. There are 9268 Doctoral dissertations and 13,773 masters’ theses.


Dissertation.com Has just a few hundred dissertations and theses in its collection, but the site allows free, full-text access to the first twenty-five pages of each item.


DiVA is an institutional repository for research publications and student theses written at 30 universities and colleges of higher education in Scandinavia.


Electronic Theses and Dissertations in the Humanities (University of Virginia) Search their library catalogue VIRGO for theses. Many texts now available through Google Books, HathiTrust and Project Gutenberg


E-Theses (from Finland) contains doctoral dissertations and other publications from the University of Helsinki. All of these full-text publications are freely accessible via the Internet.


ETHOS Offers free access to the full text of electronically stored UK theses. EThOS is the UK’s national thesis service which aims to maximise the visibility and availability of the UK’s doctoral research theses. There are approximately 350,000 records relating to theses awarded by over 120 institutions. Around 120,000 of these also provide access to the full text thesis. Of the remaining 250,000 records dating back to at least 1800, three quarters are available to be ordered for scanning.


National ETD Portal Provides access to ETDs produced in South Africa.


Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD) International collection containing more than one million records of electronic theses and dissertations.


OhioLINK Electronic Theses and Dissertations Center is a global index of freely available electronic theses and dissertations, provided by major ETD collections around the world. This index lets you search for information about each ETD.


OpenThesis is a free repository of theses, dissertations, and other academic documents. Provides a global search of theses and dissertations from institutional repositories around the world. Check the FAQs


OpenDOAR has opted to collect and provide information solely on sites that wholly embrace the concept of open access to full text resources that are of use to academic researchers. Thus sites where any form of access control prevents immediate access are not included. Check the FAQs


PhdData: The Universal Index of Dissertations in Progress has citations from several thousand dissertations in progress from various parts of the world.


Registry of Open Access Repositories (ROAR) aims to promote the development of open access by providing timely information about the growth and status of repositories throughout the world. Open access to research maximises research access and thereby also research impact, making research more productive and effective.

Theses Canada Provides access to bibliographic citations for all the theses in the National Library of Canada Theses Collection. Access to full-text theses is available for all items published between January 1, 1998 to August 31, 2002.


TROVEinfoAustralian_content Digital versions of theses produced by postgraduate research students at Australian universities, other institutions and libraries. Trove includes theses at all levels, including Honours, etc. For more information on finding Australian theses visit this site


University of Miami Electronic Theses & Dissertations contains over 4000 dissertations and theses created between 1961 and the present. The Graduate School supports masters-level and doctoral programs. Check the FAQs


History

Directory of History Dissertations in Progress Contains 3,804 dissertations in progress at 170 academic departments in Canada and the US. This is a citation database of dissertations in progress in the area of history.


Music

Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology This is an international database of citations for dissertations in musicology that contains over 12,000 records. Dissertations are from approximately 1950 to the present.


Theology

TREN: Theological Research Exchange Network Provides citations to 6,800 theological theses/dissertations and conference papers. Items can then be purchased through this site. The opening page actually states that they have 10,000 theses/dissertations, but the search page allows searching of 6,800 items.
