Borrowing rights

Post Graduate Research students may borrow up to 25 books from Avondale Libraries for a period of 28 days. One renewal is permitted.

Postgraduate Students in receipt of Avondale Scholarship
Avondale Post Graduate Research students in receipt of a tuition fee waiver scholarship may request interlibrary loans using the online Interlibrary Loan Request Form Any costs associated with their requests will be charged to the student's account. One thesis may be purchased for the student at no cost. Additional theses will be charged to the student's account.

Fee Paying Postgraduate Students
Full fee paying students may request interlibrary loans using the online Interlibrary Loan Request Form No charges will apply. Two theses may be purchased for the student at no cost.


Reciprocal Borrowing

Students may also join the University of Newcastle Library as a reciprocal borrower for an annual fee of $22.00. Please obtain a stamped and signed printout of your borrower record from an Avondale Library staff member, and then present it to the duty librarian at any one of the Newcastle University Libraries.

Printing and Photocopying

Post Graduate students in receipt of a tuition fee waiverscholarship are expected to pay their own printing and photocopying expenses.

Scanning

Scanning is free and may be done at all Library copy machines. The documents are sent as pdf files to nominated email accounts. You do not need to log in but will need to type in an email address.

Binding & Laminating

A plastic comb binding machine is located in the Lake Macquarie bookshop. Binding supplies are available there.
The University Bookshop on Lake Macquarie Campus also offers laminating services.

Off-campus Access

All students are allocated an Avondale user name and password. Students must enter their student user name and password in order to access the Library's electronic resources from off-campus
