Consecration Services

Friday 6 Dec

Consecration Services held simultaneously on both campuses (all other programs are held on the Lake Macquarie campus).

Consecration Service (Sydney Campus) 7.30 pm-9.00 pm.
Features: Presentation of academic prizes and lamp lighting recessional.

Graduands: Please wear full academic dress except for trencher. Assemble in room under church by 6.45 pm.

Graduands: Please wear full academic dress. Assemble in front of College Hall (Avondale University College Seventh-day Adventist Church foyer if raining) by 6.45 pm.

Vice Chancellor's Breakfast

Saturday 7 Dec

Vice Chancellor’s Breakfast 8.00 am–9.00 am.

A social gathering of graduands from the class of 2019, their immediate family and academic staff members in the College Cafeteria. This is a FREE event but ticket entry only – graduands receive 4 tickets.

Graduands do not need to pre-book tickets but must request tickets when collecting academic dress.

Valedictory Service

Saturday 7 Dec

10 am–12:30 pm

Worship with Graduands from the class of 2019 at this farewell worship service.

Graduands: Please wear full academic dress. Assemble in front of College Hall (Avondale University College Seventh-day Adventist Church foyer if raining) by 9.40 am. The service will be live streamed on Avondale University College church’s YouTube channel. Ella Hughes Chapel is an overflow venue with air conditioning.

Graduation Concert: The Thrift Honours 7.30 pm–9 pm
Avondale University College Church

A celebration of Avondale Conservatorium’s outstanding performers and composers as part of
the 2019 Avondale Concert Series. Featuring: Avondale Conservatorium graduands, recital high distinction, scholarship and prizewinning students. Freewill offering for the support of music students.

Graduation Ceremony

Sunday 8 Dec

Discipline Photos 8 am-9 am

Graduands assemble in front of College Hall for discipline photographs as follows:
  • 8.00 am, Education
  • 8.25 am, Outdoor Recreation & CHEP
  • 8.30 am, Theology
  • 8.40 am, Science and Mathematics
  • 8.45 am, Business
  • 8.50 am, Postgraduates
  • 8.55 am, Humanities and Creative Arts
  • 9.00 am, Nursing
  • 9.05 am, Academic staff members

Graduation Ceremony 10 am-12.30 pm (Doors open 9am)

  1. Wear full academic dress.
  2. Sit in allocated seats by 9.30 am—lists outside and marshals inside Chan Shun Auditorium identify seats.
  3. Proceed as directed by academic registrar and Student Administration Services staff members to processional line up.

Guests should:
  1. Sit in allocated seats no later than 9.40 am—doors close at 9.45 am

No prams or strollers in auditorium. Speak to an usher to have your pram or stroller stored during the ceremony. Note: You will not have access to your pram or stroller until the end of the ceremony.
