    Bev Christian has spent many years working in Primary Schools as a teacher, administrator and curriculum writer before transferring to the tertiary sector. Bev lectures in the area of Professional Development. Her aim is to help pre-service teachers develop their God given potential as caring and innovative classroom practitioners. She is passionate about lifelong learning and modelling what she teaches. Her research interests include the ethos and culture of Christian schools, best practice teaching and the interface between faith and nature.

  2. Jason Hinze

    Jason Hinze is a lecturer and Secondary Course Convenor at Avondale University. He has made significant contributions towards education as a secondary teacher, community educator and initial teacher educator. Some of his research interests include wellbeing education and the power of overseas professional teaching experiences on the development of pre-service teachers.

  3. Sherry Hattingh

    Sherene Hattingh is the Primary Course Convenor - Education in the Faculty of Business, Education and Science at Avondale University. She has worked, researched and presented in the Primary, Secondary and Tertiary education sectors as a teacher, administrator and researcher. Her publications in peer reviewed and church journals and books cover the areas of internationalisation, ESL students and pedagogy, assessment and Christian discipleship.

  4. Sandra Ludlow
    School of Education, Lecturer/Early Childhood Course Convenor
    Dip Teach (Primary); BEd (Primary); BEd (In-service), (Early Childhood); MEd (Early Childhood)

    Sandra’s teaching career spans over 40 years. During this time, she has been a lecturer, director/teacher of several long day care centres, an infant K-Y12 teacher, and a sole charge, K-Y6 Principal/teacher. Sandra has maintained a passionate interest in project based learning, emergent curriculum and children’s spiritual awareness & faith formation, in both infant and preschool classrooms. Sandra’s current research interests include the pedagogy of listening and the social construction of spiritual awareness and faith formation of 3-5yr old’s, as displayed through garden projects and Godly Play provisions.

  5. Peter Kilgour
    School of Education, Associate Professor/Research Centre Director

    Peter Kilgour is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Christian Education Research Centre at Avondale University. He has 39 years experience in Christian education as a secondary teacher, school principal, school system director and more recently lecturer and researcher in pre-service teacher education. His research interests include Christian school learning environments, innovations in tertiary learning and teaching, online education and cultural awareness in tertiary students.
