At Avondale University we come across many incredible students and staff who have answered the calling to step outside their comfort zone and made an impact in their community. Our nurse educator Eranita Lamplough is one of those outstanding individuals who will be pushing her limits running 100 miles to raise funds for the 10,000 Toes Campaign.
On November 27, Eranita will start her gruelling race through the heart of the Snowy Mountains, to complete The KosciMiler Ultramarathon in 36 hours. Covering 100 miles (160 Kilometres) and more than 5,000 metres of elevation gain, this race will challenge her physically, mentally and spiritually.
Eranita’s motivation, to raise $40,000 for work to prevent and manage diabetes across the South Pacific. From that amount $25,000 will also go towards completing key infrastructure if the Ugi Health Clinic that will service more than 4000 local people.
Running for this cause is close to her hear and is greater than personal achievement. The funds raised would provide more than just medical support for the community. “I believe this clinic can become a place of hope, healing and connection,” she says, “a practical expression of God’s love through compassionate healthcare and service.”
A thread that is shared with Avondale University ethos, where health and education is at the core mission through empowering students to lead for a greater vision of world needs.
Support Eranita’s goal to help thousands of people gain access to key medical support and to be an extension of God’s love by donating here.
