Centenarians’ return an early graduation gift
Avondale Alumni welcomed these great dames—Elma Coombe (left) and Fern Parr (middle) are centenarians and Betty Nixon (right) a nonagenarian—back to the Lake Macquarie campus this past week and gave them a trencher. They all graduated within a year of each other; Elma (1939) from the teaching course and Fern (1940) and Betty (1939) from business. About 260 more students will soon join the three as alumni after graduation this year. Visit www.avondale.edu.au/graduation for information about the event.
