Whether you’re representing Avondale at UniSport Nationals, competing in a weekly basketball competition, or just cheering on your favourite team—sport brings the Avondale community together.

Avondale offers a range of modern sporting and fitness facilities to staff, students and the general community. With so many individual and team sports available there is something for everyone, no matter what skill level.

Avondale Eagles

Since 2012, Avondale has been a member of UniSport Australia. This allows participation in the UniSport Nationals, Australia’s largest sporting competition for universities.

Gym

After some years of our campus gym being privately managed, its now back under the University operation. The University is planning to reopen the gym soon. Watch for announcements on social media.

Pool

Avondale University’s 25 meter heated pool, with dedicated swimming lanes and opportunities for swimming classes and aqua aerobics will reopen at the same time as our gym. Watch for announcements on social media.

Chan Shun Auditorium

This 4.5 million-dollar auditorium and sporting complex accommodates four basketball courts or a mix of basketball, badminton, netball, indoor soccer, and volleyball courts. It has quality fittings throughout with a sprung timber floor.

Jim Hanson Fitness Centre

Adjoining the Chan Shun Auditorium, the Jim Hanson Fitness Centre has four squash courts, a rock-climbing wall, weights gym and foam pit.

Tennis Courts and Sports Fields

Avondale has two full-size tennis courts and four sports fields available for soccer, rugby, touch football, Aussie Rules football and cricket.
