Early Entry

Hey early birds! Avondale's Early Entry program can earn you an offer into your chosen undergraduate degree before your final exams.

Who can apply for Early Entry?

A domestic student – either an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or permanent humanitarian visa-holder studying Yr 12 student in 2026, or
A New Zealand student studying Year 13 in 2026, or
An international student studying Yr 12 in Australia in 2026

What courses accept Early Entry?

All undergraduate (Bachelor level) courses.

How to apply?

1. Register for Early Entry →

2. Click the application link in your registration confirmation email.

3. Upload your Year 11 results in your application.

4. Submit your Early Entry application.

Eligibility and assessment criteria

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR by studying 5 HSC Board Developed courses
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 Board Developed courses (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• NSW Student eRecord (PDF) displaying Year 11 results. To access visit the NSW Students Online Portal and navigate to the "My eRecord" or "Reports" section and select the eRecord and download.
• Final Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Notice via CredFolio, or in PDF format with QR code for verification prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 completing the ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR by studying 5-6 Board Developed Courses/ T Courses, and
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 Board Developed Courses/ T Courses (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (SSC) eRecord (PDF) displaying Year 11 results. To access visit the ACT Students Online Portal and navigate to the "My eRecord" or "Reports" section and select the eRecord and download.
• Semester 1 and 2 Year 11 reports (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Notice via CredFolio, or in PDF format with QR code for verification prior to commencement of study at Avondale (only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR by studying four or more VCE approved Unit 3 and 4 courses
• Achieved an equivalent of a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 VCE Unit 1 and 2 courses (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• Semester 2 Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Year 11 results conversion report - your school will need to complete a conversion of Year 11 results into a grading system.
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Notice My eQuals or in PDF format with QR code for verification (only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in five Year 11 General subjects or four General subject and one Applied subject (one must be QCAA English).

You will need to supply:

• Final Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Certificate from Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) in PDF format for verification prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 ATAR and/or General units (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• Final Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Notice in PDF format with QR code for verification prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 (Stage 1) Tertiary Admission Subjects (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Record of Achievement (ROA). To access visit the Students Online portal.
• Semester 2 Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• Official SATAC ATAR Statement (PDF) prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 (Stage 1) Tertiary Admission Subjects (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) Record of Achievement (ROA). To access visit the Students Online portal.
• Semester 2 Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• Official SATAC ATAR Statement (PDF) prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 12 student completing the Tasmanian Certificate of Education (TCE) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR
• Achieved a minimum of two (2) B grades and three (3) C grades in Year 11 (one must be English).

You will need to supply:

• Statement of Results from Tasmanian Assessment, Standards & Certification (TASC)
• Final Year 11 school report (PDF)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• ATAR Advice Notice in PDF format prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are a Year 13 student completing the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) in 2026
• Are eligible to receive an ATAR by studying 5-6 subjects in year 12 that are University Entrance (UE) approved subjects
• Achieved assessment with Merit (M) or Excellence (E) in NCEA Level 2 report.

You will need to supply:

• New Zealand Record of Achievement (ROA)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied. For example, we’ll need to see your Year 12 Maths results should you wish to become a maths teacher, and
• Evidence you achieved University Entrance (UE) in NCEA Level 3 results, or supply an ATAR Advice Notice in PDF format with QR code for verification prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

To be considered for Early Entry, you:

• Are completing your final year of senior secondary schooling in 2026
• Studied three (3) HL courses and three (3) SL courses (one must be English), and achieved a minimum of 2 grades of 5 (HL or SL) and a minimum of four (4) passing grades (HL=3, SL=4).

You will need to supply:

• Year 12 end of Semester 1 report which includes Year 12 provisional results.
• Predicted grades provided by the applicant’s school
• Principal, Head of School, or IB Coordinator endorsement (where available)
• Evidence that course specific requirements are met – we’ll let you know what these are once you have applied, and
• Evidence of completion of the full IB Diploma prior to the commencement of study at Avondale (this is only required if you receive an Early Entry offer).

What happens next?

When you apply to study for Early Entry, you will receive an email confirming your submission. The email will include your application details (the course, campus, and attendance mode) and your unique Avondale ID number. We will ask you to follow up on the specific admission requirements for your course (if applicable).


After applications for Early Entry close, your application will be assessed and you will receive an email with the outcome from 1 September 2026.

If your application for Early Entry is unsuccessful, don't worry! You still have the opportunity to gain entry into your chosen degree by obtaining the minimum ATAR for the course. Or you may be considered for entry through one of our pathways.

Your Offer

If you meet all the entry requirements, you will receive an early offer, securing your place at Avondale before sitting your final exams!

Terms and Conditions

1. Available to new Avondale students in Semester 2, 2026, Semester 1, 2027 in an undergraduate bachelors degree.
2. Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Offers must be accepted before applying for accommodation and are subject to availability.
3. Students must be enrolled full-time (4 units per semester).
4. Sponsored (rent-free) accommodation is available for the first semester and may continue into the second semester if the student maintains good academic standing (passing all 4 units).
5. Students are expected to maintain good academic progress and attend classes on campus (face-to-face).
6. Accommodation will be shared rooms.
7. A refundable bond is payable upon moving into the dormitories.
8. A meal plan must be purchased.
9. Open to eligible Australian, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent resident visa holder students.
10. The sponsored accommodation is only available on the Lake Macquarie campus.
