Our student leaders make a significant contribution to the life of students. Being a student leader is an opportunity to grow and develop your leadership skills in a safe and supportive environment. Student Council

The Avondale University (Avondale) Student Council is an elected governance body that oversees the independent allocation and expenditure of at least the minimum legislated amount of the Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) collected each year for the benefit of all students in accordance with the mission, purpose and values of Avondale as an institution of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The Avondale University Student Council consists of

A majority of members who are either or both of the following:
- Students currently enrolled in a course of study at Avondale for the calendar year;
- Students who have been enrolled in a course of study at Avondale during any of the 3 immediately preceding calendar years; and
A majority of members who have been democratically elected by currently enrolled Avondale students.

ASA President (ex officio, Lake Macquarie Campus)
ASAS President & Treasurer (ex officio, Sydney Campus)
Treasurer
Secretary
Undergraduate Student Representative from the University Council
Postgraduate Student Representative from the University Council (PG student continuing in role for 2027)

The Council will be supported by a non-voting Staff Advisor.

Avondale Student Association

The ASA is made up of several sub-committees: Social, SALT Ministries, Communications and Publications (VOICE magazine and Jacaranda yearbook). The association is led by the ASA Student President and is primarily active on the Lake Macquarie Campus.

Avondale Student Association Sydney

The ASAS is the Sydney campus student association. They allow the nursing student body to have input into the running of student life on the Sydney campus. The association is led by the Nursing Student President. For information about Sydney Campus life follow Avondale Nurses on Instagram.
