Lynden Rogers took his BSc in Physics and Maths at Avondale, following up with post-graduate studies at the University of Newcastle. His PhD project involved meteor and atmospheric studies using real-time processing of radar data. He taught Physics and Maths at Avondale for over forty years, heading the Department of Science and Maths for 15 years.
Over his entire Avondale tenure Lynden also either taught into, or solely presented, Avondale’s long-standing unit on Science and Christian Faith. This potentially difficult interface has been his main research interest for the last four decades and he has edited three books within this broad field: Changing Attitudes to Health within Adventist Health and Medicine from 1865 to 2015 (2015), The Biblical Flood: Context and History of Adventist Understanding (2020), and The Age of Life on Earth (2025).
Lynden is married to physiotherapist, Julie, and has three lecturer/teacher children: Lachlan, Cameron and Susan.
