Advanced standing counts as credit towards your Avondale course, which can reduce both the length and cost. If you have completed a course of study, you may be eligible for advanced standing, otherwise known as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

It usually takes approximately four weeks to assess your advanced standing application. However, it may take longer during peak admission periods or if a high unit volume requires assessment.
You will need to supply evidence to support your application for advanced standing, including a copy of every subject/unit outline you wish to have assessed for credit, and a certified copy of your certificate of completion and transcript(s).
Once we assess your advanced standing application, our Student Administration Services (SAS) team will email the outcome. The email will include details about the units approved for credit and those not. Approved applications for advanced standing require you to sign and return an acceptance form (supplied) by email.
On entry to the Bachelor of Nursing, eight units (one year of full-time study) is awarded if you:
info Older programs that have led to registration as an enrolled nurse may still receive credit, but it may not be all eight units.
