The Avondale Experience—it’s so much more than just what happens in the classroom. The community and lifestyle is what makes studying at Avondale so unique. There are plenty of on-and off-campus opportunities to connect with your fellow students, be more active through team sport, and serve as part of the greater Avondale community.

Students love the green, natural environment of our beautiful Lake Macquarie campus (located between the Central Coast and Newcastle) and the state-of-the-art health facilities of our campus at Sydney Adventist Hospital on the North Shore.

We are offering  sponsored (rent-free) accommodation on the Lake Macquarie campus in 2026 and
 2027. Places are limited and terms and conditions apply.

Experience Avondale to the fullest by living on campus - either Lake Macquarie and Sydney. Our dormitory style residential halls are central to both campuses, giving our students easy access to classes and campus life.

7@Avondale is the main hub for great food on the Lake Macquarie campus. Whether you are wanting a hot drink before class, or lunch with friends, we've got staff, students and visitors covered.

Embrace an active lifestyle by getting involved in our diverse weekly sporting competitions, joining the on campus gym, or enjoying the scenic walking tracks around our Lake Macquarie Campus.

Spirituality is at the centre of everything we do. Whether it's church, talking to our campus chaplains or just doing life with friends, there is always some way to connect and feel supported in your faith journey.

Our Avondale Student Association's are here to help! With one association on each campus, the student leadership teams are your go-to platform for student voice, exciting social events and new initatives that help enrich the student campus experience. 

Access tailored academic guidance, counseling, and career development resources designed to nurture your personal and professional growth. From tutoring to mental health support, our dedicated team ensures a supportive environment, empowering you to thrive academically and personally throughout your journey.

Orientation will help you make a smooth and successful transition to your study program. You will meet your lecturers and the professional staff who will support you, discover how to get work on campus and take a tour of campus.

You will meet other students while enjoying a free pizza lunch and big breakfast, live music, mixed sports and other social activities such as a moonlight movie, a pool party and speed friending.

The Avondale experience is about more than just attending classes in productive spaces.

Share life with new friends at Variety Hour, as part of a team in one of our sporting leagues, in our inspiring worship programs or on a service-learning trip. If you are new to Avondale, you will also join our free wellbeing program that will lift your life.

The sense of belonging you will find here will stay with you long after you graduate.

1. Available to new Avondale students in Semester 2, 2026, Semester 1, 2027 in an undergraduate bachelors degree.
2. Places are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis. Offers must be accepted before applying for accommodation and are subject to availability.
3. Students must be enrolled full-time (4 units per semester).
4. Sponsored (rent-free) accommodation is available for the first semester and may continue into the second semester if the student maintains good academic standing (passing all 4 units).
5. Students are expected to maintain good academic progress and attend classes on campus (face-to-face).
6. Accommodation will be shared rooms.
7. A refundable bond is payable upon moving into the dormitories.
8. A meal plan must be purchased.
9. Open to eligible Australian, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent resident visa holder students.
10. The sponsored accommodation is only available on the Lake Macquarie campus.
